Squirrels Holt, Permission Granted

We have worked on the regeneration proposals for the Former Dairy Barn at Squirrels Holt for a number of years. Approval was originally confirmed under Permitted Development in 2021, for the conversion of the building into 2 smaller units which would have been suitable for the private rental market. This confirmation was renewed in 2024.

Following a change in circumstance the client decided they wanted to develop the site as a single, new build dwelling for their own use. The Design Team developed the planning strategy based on the extant consent and the associated designation of 2 residential units.

We designed a new build unit based on the familiar form of an agricultural dutch barn and located it on the same building footprint. Set into the slope of the land it a two-storey solution which will appear as ground hugging with a curved low-slung form.

We look forward to walking through the local woods to get to the site meetings!!
