Flower Pots Brewery, Cheriton

The Site

Forge Design Studio were introduced to Rupert and the team at the Flower Pots in early 2024 by architect and family friend Paul Masser formerly of Master Architects (now retired).

The project involved the extension and refurbishment of the existing brewery at The Pots, responding to the growing popularity of the brewery’s beers and the need to modernise its facilities.

The proposals provide additional floor space to improve operational efficiency, enhance working conditions and enable increased brewing capacity and future product development, while retaining the traditional on-site brewing processes that are central to the Flower Pots identity.

Planning permission was granted by Winchester City Council in December 2024, and the client wasted no time in progressing the project. Detailed design and production information were developed swiftly, laying the foundations for construction to begin.

Working closely with the client and local subcontractors, the brewery extension began to take shape with the installation of the steel frame in February 2026, followed by the carefully crafted timber rafters and sarking boards, supplied by Green Oak Carpentry.

The brewery hall was completed in time for The Pots’ annual beer festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The new space was transformed into a vibrant festival hub, accommodating the sales counters for the impressive selection of 158 beers on offer to festival goers.

The project is now entering its final phase, with brewery equipment recently delivered to site by German manufacturer BrauKon. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this exciting project and to have worked alongside such an enthusiastic client team. We look forward to seeing the brewery fully operational and producing its first batch of beer.
