End of Summer Update…Part One
As the long, warm days of summer draw to an end to be replaced by some very welcome rain and cooler temperatures it’s a good time reflect on 2025 so far.
We’re looking at an optimistic Autumn as our workload has a positive outlook with a number of existing projects which are now moving forward to the next stage. Together with some new instructions which are extremely exciting.
See a bit of a narrative on progress across the board, in reverse RIBA Stages order!
RIBA Stage 6 Recently completed –
An Teallach, our own development in Scotland is being furnished ready for short term holiday letting. It’s looking good and had its first visitors. A recent collaboration with the suppliers has been rewarding and as we aim to promote the building to a wider catchment. Click here to see the final result!
Paddock House was as photogenic as ever when we visited on the hottest day of the year in August. Thanks to Jill Stevenson (H4Photo) for her photographic skills - how Loretta and Jill resisted a dip in the pool is commendable!!
RIBA Stage 5 Construction underway on site –
Leisure Project, Wiltshire. Construction is progressing very well on site with the full form and shape of the building being clearly legible. Cladding is going on and preparation is ready for the internal playing surfaces
Brewery Extension, Flower Pots, Cheriton. Extensive drainage improvements and groundworks are well underway having created a large excavation in the purest of chalk sub-structure. Steelwork has been designed and ordered with a local supplier. Delivery will be held in abeyance as the Client balances the need to ensure production stays operational leading up to the Chr****as rush!
RIBA Stage 4 Technical Design
Teals, Stamford. After lengthy negotiation and dialogue between the client and the landowner instruction has now been received to progress with the detailed production drawings
Residential Projects – planning consent has been received for a number of projects all of which have resulted in instructions to proceed to the next stages –
Oak House
Demolition of conservatory, single storey extension, garage conversion / extension and link
North Brook End House, Listed Building
Garage extension and window replacement
Old Keepers Cottage
Two storey side extension
Elmtree Gardens
Demolition of rear lean-to, single storey rear extension
The list of projects above demonstrate the range of projects that we at Forge Design get involved in. We have always strived to have a varied and mixed workload on the basis that it is best to spread the interest and it avoids being pigeon holed into one particular sector.
